Maruti Suzuki announced fresh investments of ₹10,440 crore to manufacture  EVs and batteries in Gujarat

Of the amount, ₹3,100 crore will be used to increase EV manufacturing capacity at Suzuki Motor Gujarat (SMG) by 2025

while ₹7,300 crore has been earmarked for setting up a plant to start making batteries for EVs in 2026.

This will form part of the overall $1.3 billion package that has been announced by SMC

Toshihiro Suzuki, representative director and president, SMC, said at the India-Japan Economic Forum on March 19.
